In 2001 we pioneered the use of diversion technology for small living spaces. The Air Head Classic was the first fully self-contained diversion composting system ever developed. Since that time our legacy is thousands of installations all over the world, and the launch of our brand new product, Tejo.
Early on we focused on the most demanding application: marine. More recently our units can be found in anything from off the grid housing, to RV’s & Campers. We are particularly proud that our vision has become the choice problem solver for many people who want to live with less environmental impact in tiny houses.
We feel that our years of experience and commitment set us beyond those companies who have chosen to mimic our technology. That said, there are many differences that make our design more desirable. These may not be immediately apparent, but our comparison is completely transparent for those who are inclined to analyze objectively.

Bought for a 24 foot sailboat. install was mostly straightforward. Instructions were clear and complete. Everything needed to setup and start the compost was included. Before purchase I had lots of help from the tech support folks to get sizes to be sure everything would fit. Excellent product from a good company. Very happy I made the switch from holding tank system to Air Head.
I have had an Air Head installed in my sailboat for 3 years. It took a bit of time to get the install the way I wanted it, but having the option of different customization was great!
So much better than having to pump out regularly, especially when staying in the bay, or in a marina!
We will be ordering a new one soon for the second head!
I recently installed the Air Head Tejo composting toilet in my cabin, and overall, I’m quite satisfied. The installation process was relatively easy, and the unit feels solid and well-made.
One of the best things about the Air Head Tejo is how it effectively manages waste without any noticeable odors, which was a big concern for me. It also uses very little water, making it an environmentally friendly option. The compact design fits well in my small space.
There were a couple of minor issues during installation, but the customer support team was helpful and responsive.
If you’re looking for a sustainable and practical composting toilet, the Air Head Tejo is definitely worth considering.
